Terms & Conditions
The conditions that apply when you use this website or leave a timepiece with us for service.
Last updated: 1 January 2025
About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which you may use this website and the conditions that apply when you entrust a watch or other timepiece to Thong Lanna for assessment, repair, regulation, or restoration.
By using this website or by leaving a timepiece with us, you agree to these terms. If anything here is unclear, please ask us before proceeding — we are always happy to explain.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand.
Using This Website
This website is provided for information about our services and to allow you to contact us. You may use it for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
- Attempt to interfere with the website's operation or security
- Use automated tools to scrape or copy its content
- Submit false or misleading information through any contact form
The content on this website — including text, images, and layout — belongs to Thong Lanna or its content providers. You may not reproduce it without our written consent.
We try to keep the information on this website accurate and current, but we make no warranty about its completeness or reliability. Prices, availability, and turnaround times described on the website are indicative and may vary.
Submitting an Enquiry
Completing the contact form on our website does not create a service contract or booking. An enquiry is simply the start of a conversation. We will respond to discuss your needs, and any agreement to proceed will be made directly between us — either in person at our workshop, by email, or by telephone.
Leaving a Watch with Us
When you leave a timepiece with Thong Lanna, the following applies:
- Assessment first. Unless otherwise agreed, we begin with a careful assessment before undertaking any work. We will share our findings and the proposed scope before proceeding.
- Your authority to proceed. By leaving a watch with us, you confirm that you are its owner or are authorised by the owner to request the service.
- Your approval is needed. We will not begin substantive repair work without your agreement on the scope and cost. For restorations involving unforeseen complications, we will pause and contact you before continuing.
- Collection. Once work is complete, we will notify you. We ask that you collect the timepiece within 30 days of notification. If collection is delayed, please let us know — we will make reasonable arrangements.
- Uncollected pieces. Timepieces left uncollected for more than 90 days after notification, without communication from you, may be subject to a storage charge. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before any such charge applies.
Pricing and Payment
All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of Thai VAT where applicable. Prices quoted at the assessment stage are estimates; the final amount will be agreed before work begins or before collection, depending on the nature of the service.
Payment is due on collection of the timepiece unless other arrangements are agreed in writing. We accept cash and bank transfer. Specific payment methods can be confirmed at the time of your service.
Quoted prices cover the work described in the agreed scope. If additional work becomes necessary during a service, we will discuss this with you before proceeding and agree on any additional charge.
Care of Your Timepiece
We handle every watch with the same careful attention we would give our own. We maintain appropriate workshop insurance, but we recommend that you retain your own insurance cover for valuable pieces while they are in transit or with us, particularly for antique or high-value timepieces.
Where a watch is left without a clear record of its pre-existing condition, we will document its condition on receipt so that both parties have a shared reference.
Turnaround Times
Estimated turnaround times are given in good faith based on the work likely to be needed and current workshop capacity. They are not fixed deadlines. More complex restorations — particularly of antique pieces or those requiring hand-finished components — may take longer than initially estimated. We will keep you informed of any significant changes to the expected timeline.
Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the direct cost of that service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence.
Disputes
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, we ask that you raise the matter with us directly. We prefer to resolve concerns through straightforward conversation. These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand, and any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Continued use of our website or services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
